I just need a good hypnotherapist that will help me deal with some person issues as well as relationship insecurities.
Yeahh…I do. He’s one of my friend’s fathers. His name is Jay Frankel.

How frustrating is it for a hypnotist to have a patient withdraw trust from them??
is this one of the reasons that a doctor will NOT try hypnosis on a person who isnt fully willing?
also , what usually are the reasons for a patient to withdraw trust during a trance and why so?
Thanks for your answers!
also, is it more than frustrating , is their an emotional abandoment there that they worry about as well??
why so?
As a certified consulting hypnotist with the National Guild of Hypnotists I can tell you that there has to be some kind of trust or rapport with a hypnotist and client relationship or the hypnosis will not work. The Hypnotist is the coach and the client actually does all of the work, but if the client is holding back the suggestions will be refused by the subconscious mind. With the NGH we are required to abide by a strict code of ethics and standard of practice.
ever tried a hypnotherapy cd for calming driving test nerves?
have you ever tried a hypnotherapy cd to help you pass your driving test- is it worth doing? which one did you use?
It wasn’t for my test as I had already passed, but I used a Paul McKenna CD for my flying nightmares and it was a total success. I used to have to be dragged on to the aircraft and would spend the whole flight in hysterics. Now I love flying, even like to see the wings changing as we are landing. It has changed my life. Good luck. I think he does one for relaxing in difficult situations….
Is it possible that hypnotism can help get rid of bad habits?
I know there is hypnosis for weight loss and quitting smoking, but what about bad habits such as biting your nails, or cracking your knuckles?
Just as a note, if you do respond, please backup your info. I do not want answers just going "Yes" or "no" without reasoning to back it up.
Thanks.
Yes, it will work. Hypnotism is about ‘messing’ with the thought process. Making suggestions that your mind will follow. Hypnotism will not make you do something that you really do not want to do (like dance like a chicken or kill someone) but overeating, smoking or any bad habit you want to break can be suggested through hypnotism and it usually works.
What would bring someone out of a hypnotic state?
Say a person was hypnotized by an inept amateur hypnotist, and then not brought out of the hypnotic state. Say for instance the victim had been told that all apples tasted like oranges.
Would that person forever believe that apples tasted like oranges, or would the delusion eventually wear off?
Books that I read years ago maintained that a person that didn’t awaken on suggestion
would go into a normal sleep and awaken within 12 hours.
Of the many stage shows by hypnotists, that I have seen, very few individuals
were highly suggestible on the first attempt at hypnotism. Post hypnotic
suggestion worked for about 1 out of 20.
In normal every day life we have accepted many suggestions as fact
and it sure is difficult to get someone to see it differently. On TV at least
26% of programming time is ads that are designed to make you feel
less than perfect and in need of their product. Sick suggestion, but we buy into it.
J Medicine Hat for real?
Anybody ever seen the comedian J Medicine Hat? Is his show for real? We went and watched his show last night at a funny bone, just wondering about his hipnosis stuff.
We went to see him last night here in Huntington, WV. His show was great, but I have a feeling none of the people on stage were really hypnotized. They certainly played (or tried to) along and the show was great. However, I think those who were "hypnotized" were just playing along. You get on-stage, you hear the applause and you don’t want to disappoint the performer or your friends. I belive that hypnosis is real and that J. Medicine Hat can probably, and often does, get audiences in a hypnotic place but he failed to do it last night and got lucky with great people who were willing to play along. What do you think?
If a 7yr old has endured emotional abuse and intrusive examinations should they live with the perpetrator?
My eldest daughter has lived with a DHS Carer since she was 3 following my then inability to overcome my grief of her father passing 1month prior to her birth. Her fathers family and i were allowed access visits seperately.Since April 2002 i have improved beyond words and now have 2 other children who are in my full time care.In April 2003 my daughter was placed on a Permanent Care Order meaning she cannot live with us until she is of age to decide it for herself. In 2004 DHS returned the matter to court with evidence of abuse from Carer whist my daughter was in thier care.Carer took my daughter to see hypnotherapists, councellors and requested intrusive medical examinations to be performed on my daughter in order to prevent access ocuring.DHS requested my daughter be returned to my care.Unfortunately due to the length of time she spent with the Carer,it was ordered she remain with them.Whats wrong with this picture, that you can abuse someone whos lived with you for years and thats ok?
there is so much wrong with the picture…unfortunately you are in the forefront of the photo…that poor kid!
Do you need to have a specific issue to go see a hypnotherapist?
Let me explain further…Do I have to have something that I want to work on? like depression, issues w/ a family… How does it help?
Hello
Yes, of course you, same as any therapy.
If you are aware that you have an issue, but you cannot name it then that can be the issue. But to go for fun or curiosity would be a waste of time.

do you believe in hypnotists?
like being hypnotized to not smoke or have anxiety or something.
do you think it works? and what are some other things people could get hypnotized for?
I think hypnosis would work for not smoking or anxiety. You can get hypnotized for just abot anything except for commiting a crime. You cant hypnotize somebody and tell them to go murder somebody or robb a bank. There is something in the mind that prevents the action from happening. I think its best if done by a professional.
