breathing tips for labor???
I’m 39 weeks pregnant, through my whole pregnancy child birth classes were booked up (my town sucks) so I could not go to one. Has anyone took any of the classes, and have any advise or experience and could tell me something to help with breathing during the contractions and pushing??
Or does anyone know anything about self hipnosis methods meditation, anything? Anythings to help, please explain.

Begin focusing on your breathing when you feel you need help relaxing or can no longer walk or talk through a contraction. For many women, this may be hours into labor. Your breathing should be at a comfortable rate and not cause you to feel short of breath or light-headed.
Your breathing style should be your own. The breath may be taken in and out of your nose or mouth, or in your nose and out your mouth. The key is to have the breathing feel natural, relaxed and even.
Each of the breathing techniques has two common features: a cleansing breath and a focal point.
Cleansing Breath
The use of a cleansing breath before and after every contraction is important. It is an exaggerated, deep breath, usually done by breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth. The purposes of this breath are to:
Allow for increased oxygen to the baby
Internally signal you that a contraction is beginning and to remind you to begin concentrating on breathing, focusing, and relaxing.
Externally signal your partner and anyone else assisting with the labor that a contraction is beginning. They can then offer assistance, such as a back massage or verbal encouragement.
Allow for blowing off residual tension after a contraction is over.
Give your baby a boost of oxygen at the end of the contraction.
Focal Point
The use of a focal point will help enhance your relaxation and increase your concentration during a contraction. An internal focal point, such as a peaceful scene or serene setting may work well for some; others may find that they need to concentrate on an object in the room or the partner’s eyes. This focus may change during labor, as contractions gain strength. Practice using different focal points that enhance your contraction and help eliminate distractions. (Note: a clock is not used as a focal point.
Allow the breathing to continue on its own quietly, easily, and evenly. Concentrate on letting yourself completely relax and let your body go limp with each exhale. Picture a rag doll.
Your body may begin to feel warm and heavy.
When ready to rouse yourself, breathe in deeply, stretching arms and legs, as you exhale.
Slow Paced Breathing
Take a "cleansing" breath at the beginning of a contraction
Continue to breathe evenly in and out with slow,easy abdominal breathing.
Pace is approximately half your normal respiratory rate.
You may use Attention Focusing strategies such as:
Inhalation/exhalation through nose
Inhalation/exhalation through mouth
Counting rhythms, imagery, affirming phrases, etc.Movement, stroking, massage, tapping, etc.
A visual focal point
As contraction ends, take a "cleansing" breath, breathing out slowly, and relaxing completely.
Modified Paced Breathing
Easy, rhythmical breathing with a frequency of approximately twice your normal respiratory rate.
Relaxed movement in chest and abdomen with more use of intercostal (chest) muscle.
Use as needed for more challenging contractions
Use same steady rate throughout contraction or use attention focusing strategies as needed.
Patterned Paced Breathing
Even, rhymthmical breathing approximately twice your normal respiratory rate.
Breathing pattern does not change rate or volume of air exchange.
Pattern 3 breath/1 "blow"
Use Attention Focusing strategies as needed.
Variations of Patterned Paced Breathing
Pattern can be from 1 breath/1 blow to 6 breaths/1 blow.
Can use Patterned Paced breathing in 1 breath/1 blow (He/Who)
Try pattern of 5/1, 4/1, 3/1, 2/1, 1/1, 2/1, 3/1, 4/1, 5/1
Combine paced breathing techniques in one contraction.
Use attention focusing strategies as needed.

i CAN’T REMEMBER ANYTHING ABOUT MY CHILDHOOD,EXEPT A FEW really bad things. My sisters talk about reall, really bad things that happen to them when growing up. But I only remember a few, But I hear my friends talk about things that happened to them way far as 4 yrs old, and I don’t. SHOULD I GO UNDER HIPNOSIS TO FIND OUR?????? Do you all remember way back as 4 yrs old, I just have a few (ten things) to remember from my childhood, and I feel so empty. WHAT SHOULD I DO??????????????

whatever memories you have had and are bad memories, maybe you have repressed other bad memories of when you were younger. Although I dont remember when I was 4 years old either and thats because my childhood went along without any problems……I was just a kid and did kid things. Not a lot of people can remember when they were younger than 5 anyway. I would not be going into hypnosis because if something bad happened to you as a child then you will remember when you are good and ready. The mind has a way of protecting us…..it represses things we cant handle and it will only become clear when we are ready to deal with it……if, in fact, there is anything to deal with. I wouldnt be getting too stressed because maybe there is nothing to remember and the memories that you do have are the only ones you have. It’s the stuff you can remember that needs to be dealt with, not the ones you cant remember. If your childhood (what you can remember of it) is causing you to be miserable and unhappy then maybe its time you dealt with the memories with a qualified counsellor. Anything else that needs to be remembered will usually come out with counselling. Maybe you are stressing yourself out over nothing and maybe there are no bad memories other than the ones you remember. Dont just to conclusions just because you cant remember when you were 4. I cant remember either, but it doesnt mean anything bad happened…just that my childhood went along without a hitch. If you are really concerned then go talk to a counsellor, but think very carefully before you consider hypnosis….that would be the last resort.

is hypnosis a good study technique?
today i was cramming for a huge (and hard) quiz the teacher told us about yesterday, and the quiz was this afternoon.
My bff taught me a way to meditate and repeat the words to myself over and over.
I was wondering if i could take it one step further and use hipnosis because my reading teacher is always making us cram for really hard tests and only giving us a day to study.
i don’t care if i have to have a friend do it, just help me!
Hypnosis can help you focus more, but it will not implant knowledge into your brain.
Why should time respect people?
Regression and hipnosis do alter fear for anxiety.
People should respect time. There’s so much I can say about time. There isn’t enough time, EVER! Was your life so bad that you feel you need to be hypnotized to remember? Regression/ hypnotizing can sometimes play tricks on the mind. Make sure you’re doing whatever it is you’re doing with the sound advise of your parents or a professional.
Does Anyone know anything about fixing my dad’s airplane phobia?
I fly all the time but my dad is completely frightened of airplanes, he thinks they are going to crash no matter what, when in truth they barely ever crash. If anyone knows anything, like sleep pills, or medication that relaxes you, He has never felt that medication or pills work on him, for he is big(6’3" 200 lbs) and he says that sleeping pills don’t usually work, but it is really important that he learns to deal with this, and soon, and please no one say hipnosis or getting drunk.
Most of the major airlines run fear of flying courses, they’re really effective and the effects are permanent, unlike medication which only helps in the short term
can any body tell me if hypnosis works please as im at the verge of a nervouse breakdown?
hi i have a hipnosis session tomorow for sleep,drinkng, worrieing and smoking. im depressed at this stage over it all. can anybody tell me if this works?
Take three deep breaths and slowly blow each one out and notice as you blow each one out you feel a bit more relaxed. Think for a while what you want the hypnosis to do. It is not some magic bullet but is is a way to change your thinking about what you want to change and if you wish to change you can change now or in a few minutes,as you choose. change now or a little later as you choose to change.
tonight when you go to bed reach down and pull up the covers and notice as you pull them up a nice wave of relaxation starts at your feet and comes up quickly-to match where the covers are. and when you are completely relaxed it is time to go to sleep. It will be a deep sleep that will leave you ready and able to cope with the work of the next day.

how can you preform hipnosis on a person other then your self ?

hypnosis is not like what we see in the cartoon. It is something like yoga. to prefor self hypnosis you should learn how to think deeply. you should learn to think in something which is interesting and never thing in some thing that you hate it because after finishing the session you will get a headache. the best way for that is to go to a specialist which will learn you how to do that and during the time that he learns you how to do that, he may hypnotize you which means that he will help you to get rid of the stress that you may have and form this life and you will go to other palce. Try to read more about that because that will help you more. and one example for hypnotism is while you are driving some times you arrive home then you start to think how did I finish the way in this quickly and you can’t remmeber what happen in the way because you were thinking deeply.
