How do you undo, or break a post-hypnotic suggestion?
How much information is needed about the suggestion to begin with?
How can that information be obtained without the input of the "hypnotist"?
Hypnotic suggestion is not normally a permanent condition, it will decrease and become extinct over time. Being hypnotized again could help erase any previous suggestions without knowing the exact suggestion. Also, self-hypnosis could be attempted. There are numerous books on the subject.

When someone is put into a hypnotic state, is it putting them into a childlike frame of mind?
why and how so?
I am thinking that it does.
I have seen pictures of handwriting taken by 40 year old men who would write during hypnosis like they were still 6 years old.
is this a special type of hypnosis or is this true about it putting you into a more vulnerable "child like" innocence of thinking?
Thanks for your answers!
You are correct, and yet, there are things to be said.
Hypnosis removes the ego portion of our thinking, leaving only the Id urges. The Id urges are a very childlike thing. But the "inner child," as has been propagated in pop psychology, is not only selfish but sexual and often cruel.
Hypnosis may or may not work. It is a phenomenological practice that needs very precise conditions to work.
How do I get in a hypnotic state?
Every year my school has a hypnotist show and it starts by having volunteers go up front and he sees who can be hypnotized most easily, then the best ones go on stage for the show. How do I relax enough to be hypnotized?
Respectfully, I completely disagree with the previous answerer. I am a Christian and will say that there is nothing wrong with being hypnotized from a Christian standpoint. But that is beside the point. I think it’s great that you are interested in trying out hypnosis.
Stage hypnotists usually use a suggestibility test to determine who will be the best subjects for the show. According to common wisdom in hypnosis, everyone is suggestible to some degree but some are more suggestible than others. The stage hypnotist picks the people who are most suggestible because they will respond the most readily and with the least encouragement to what the hypnotist says.
One common test is to lace your fingers in front of you while the hypnotist suggests that they are glued together. Those that have the most difficulty unsticking their fingers are the most suggestible.
It is possible for everyone to go into hypnosis. It sounds like you are willing and curious, which is the perfect attitude for entering hypnosis. The best way to get better at going into hypnosis is to practice. You might try out some self-hypnosis mp3s or videos (check out my sources listed below). The more you practice, the more easy it will become, like any other kind of skill. It’s also important to pay attention to the hypnotist and make an effort to follow their instructions.
Sometimes people’s thoughts can keep them from going deeper into hypnosis. Some people may naturally be very analytical and try to understand everything that is happening to them, or ask themselves "Am I actually in hypnosis yet?" These kinds of thoughts can interfere with the process. Anxiety or misunderstanding of the nature of hypnosis can do the same.
Everything else equal, some people are more suggestible than others, and the stage hypnotist is only looking for that fraction of the audience (10-15%) who will be able to go into hypnosis with very little encouragement.
If you aren’t called up on stage, however, don’t worry – you will still be able to go into hypnosis, but may just take a little more time to do it (like the rest of us).
what usually are the characteristics if someone in a post hypnotic state?
Thanks for your answers!
when you hypnotize somebody, you will make suggestions to him/her. This means you ask him/her to do/to believe/ or to commit to something that you have suggested. For example, imagine a hypnotize person with an umbrella, with boots and long coat in the mid summer, he want to buy a big box of Winston cigarettes , while he has never ever smoked yet! He was supposed to wake up when hear the word “Bump”.
When you ask him about umbrella, boots, coat and also the cigarettes, you will see he will start to bring some reasons to rationalize himself, those that are guiding us to extreme usage of defence mechanisms. I think we could expect extreme usage of defence mechanisms, which presumably denotes to overwhelming influence of unconsciousness in the post-hypnotic stage. I think also the penetration of unconscious commitment/ conduction is a function of the defined period of hypnosis. And the last but not the least is that if you hypnotize a person successfully and do suggestion, efficiently, then a perfect commitment to suggested things were predicted to realize.

What are "hypnotic" medications and how and when are they used ?
what does this do to a person and is it really very easy to recall past memories etc when on these?
how numbed down are they to what they can recall etc?
and what is the purpose really for using these ?
Thanks for your answers!
‘Hypnotic’ medications are actually sleeping tablets. Generally, they are not used in hypnosis, nor do they enable you to recall past memories. They are simply used for people who have difficulty in getting a good night’s sleep.
