Does hypnotherapy actually work? Has anyone actually had it? Not like carnival hypnotists…licensed ones?
I need it to get rid of this absolutely ridiculous fear of snakes thats absolutely taking over my life.
Everything i do now is surrounded by the fact that wherever i go i MIGHT see a snake and im fed up with it.
Would hypnotizing work?
Hypnosis might. What they would probably do is try to create positive associations with snakes in your mind, over and over.
Self-hypnosis tapes might be of use, though I haven’t benefitted from them for various other things.
Another thing that might help would be supervised and controlled exposure. What you do is gradually work yourself up to touching or holding a snake (non-venomous of course).
There are also some of the newer "thought field" therapies. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Retraining) is one that is used with PTSD sufferers, and I don’t see why it would not help with phobias. In fact, I think I read somewhere that they have used it on phobias such as fear of aircraft.
Expanding on EMDR, there are also accupressure and touch therapies that claim to help with fears and phobias. There is even a CD series around that I think is called, Instant Emotional Healing. I think it is in book form as well. It works with affirmations, visualization, touching pressure points, reversing polarities, etc.
Does anybody know of any registered HYPNOTISTS in Cebu?
Hypnotism is a pseudoscience, in that it is fake. I suggest you look for more professional help.
Can hypnotists delete memories?
someone ruined the ending of Death Note for me.
i need my memory deleted
Can hypnotists delete memories?
and if not, are there any other ways i can
Not hypnosis but you could keep filling your brain with alternate endings then wait several months and I bet you forget.
Hypnotists: What is ‘spiritual formation’…?
…as it relates to mass hypnosis? Thanks.
It’s what they do to you when you attend church.
Is (and where) are there hypnotists who are ethical and professional that can assist in reaching goals? ?
Yes, there are. Check out the following link:

do you believe in hypnotists?
like being hypnotized to not smoke or have anxiety or something.
do you think it works? and what are some other things people could get hypnotized for?
I think hypnosis would work for not smoking or anxiety. You can get hypnotized for just abot anything except for commiting a crime. You cant hypnotize somebody and tell them to go murder somebody or robb a bank. There is something in the mind that prevents the action from happening. I think its best if done by a professional.
are hypnotists legitimate in uncovering a fear from childhood which has now surfaced and causing panic attacks
what are the myths and realities of hypnotists and how do you find a good one?
Yes,hypnotising you can uncover a childhood fear. I have been hypnotised for that very reason.
You can hypnotise yourself as well, but I would recommend seeing a professional first
All hypnotism is is tapping into your subconscience. You focus on something and you start to breathe in and out slowly as the doctor speaks with you. Soon you go into sort of a sleep and you are able to focus and you are able to clearly think because you mind is basically clear and you can get in contact with your subconscious.
The myths about hypnotism, no the guy doesn’t swing something back and forth in your face and say you are getting very sleeping. You are in a nice pleasant room, you lay on a nice cozy couch and make yourself comfortable and you focus on a picture that you are attracted to or a plant or whatever is pleasant to your eye.
Once the session is over, the doctor slowly brings you "back to reality".
It’s really a neat thing.
A good hypnotist has a pleasant office, they are compassionate, they are understanding, and so on.
You will have to be the judge of who’s good and who’s not.
Good luck to you
Is it possible that hypnotists just see dreams instead of the past, as they’re both part of the subconcious?
Assuming it is all just part of the subconcious, if a hypnotist regresses you, but you ‘land’ somewhere when you were asleep, can the hypnotist just read the dream you’re having, and confuse it with reality?
Just in case I go to a hypnotist, get regressed, and say I’m being chased by ghosts because he’d caught a point in my life when I was dreaming, and he thinks it’s real.
If the memories he’s accessing is part of my subconcious, and if my dreams are part of my subconcious, this surely isn’t as daft as it sounds?
Ta.
I have a couple theories about that. The subject describes the scene – the hypnotist doesn’t "read it". The subject isn’t lying under hypnosis so there are a couple possibilities.
One I think possibly the subject is recalling a scene from a book or movie and is putting themselves in that place as though they were really there.
Second I think it could be memories "inherited" from a mother and even from a mothers mother. Much like a bird inherits the instinct to build a nest.
It is an interesting subject. I am a hypnotist and I have tried regression on many subjects. I have had success with varying degrees in less then 25% of patients so it isn’t something every patient can see.
I was told that the smarter you are the more suceptible you are to hypnosis. Any ideas or links or hypnotists?
I was hypnotized in LAS VEGAS it worked well, I was the star of the show. I did not remember any of it. When I went up to the guy after the show to buy the tape of it I told him i could not remember anything, he snapped his fingers and counted to three and then let me remember, two hours of crazy memories hit me in the head like a sledgehammer. it was like the matrix or something. anyway, I was jsut wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and if they know any further details of how hypnosis works who is suceptible and any other details, thanks
To start with you asked a non responsible person to do it to you. Stage hypnotists only responsibility is to do a show….I general they do not do a Pre induction or a post trance interview on a one on one basis. these are used to weed out people who should not be hypnotized to start with and in thend if any one is still in trance of any level.
The memories are what they are …what happened on the stage .
I am a hypnotist with over 50 years experience (retired). and it has been my experience that the finest quality subject is a female about 18-25 years and of a high IQ. under 160 the people with higher IQs have too manythings on their minds to concentrate on one thing. The absolute top subject is a child over 7-8 and under 14-15. They can do things that are just short of miracals.
