Hypnotherapy can give you temporary relief to emotional trauma. But for most people with deep emotional trauma (like PTSD) hypnotherapy has very limited success. And for any long lasting effect – you need to make repeated visits to an extremely good – and extremely expensive – hypnotherapist.

The VA should do everything possible to help our returning troops who suffer from PTSD, including hyphotherapy. The unfortunate thing about the VA is that they are usually behind the curve when it comes to forward-thinking medicine, procedures, and ideas. However, I will give Eric Shinseki the benefit of the doubt in restructuring the VA to meet current needs. He’s now the head of the VA, and was a front-line general in Iraq so he is up to speed on current military medical needs. Couple that with the fact that the Obama administration has really pumped alot of funding into the VA with yearly annual increases that don’t have to be passed by congress. All in all, there is hope for our returning vets who suffer from PTSD and other ailments.

hypnosis is not a treatment for ptsd. it has been reccommended not to experiment with hypnotherapy if you have ptsd. caution: contents under pressure.
