Should facebook have the right to veto advertisements about Clinical Hypnotherapy?
Facebook is potentially a valuable advertising channel for therapists, however in an arbitrary decision that hypnotherapy has no value, they prevent hypnotherapists from advertising their services. This despite the fact there are many research documents proving the value of hypnotherapy. Do you believe this is a fair decision from an informed publisher?
I think it’s fair, but only because Facebook is privately owned, so the owners should be able to do what they want. This is coming from someone who had depression successfully treated with hypnotherapy.
It is their site – they are free to veto anything they want. Fair enough. They don’t have to accept advertising from anyone.

I do believe they it is a fair decision, holistic therapies may work for some people but the government will not waste their time to have these treatments approved. Personally I think holistic treatment is a joke, along with chiropractics-another joke.

Well Facebook’s oweners OWN the site. They can display whatever they want. its their right.
Your meaning the same thing as if someone were to want you to jump off a building and you didnt want to. Suicide causes a faster death but you dont want to die faster. so is what your saying a fair choice? didnt think so

If Facebook has information that proves catagorically that it doesn’t work, that seems fair enough. I’m curious on what they base their idea though – I know hypnotherapy to be very valuable in the treatment of many psychological conditions, and have seen the benefits in people first hand. It seems an uninformed choice to say the least.
If they are ‘guessing’, because they are such a large media, I think they have a duty to their public – after all it’s in everyones interest to know about things they can do to help themselves, right?. After all, do they intend to vet who put what in their profiles next?
I guess they are just not really interested in the wellbeing of their users.
