How does a stage hypnotist pick his participants?
I’ve seen stage hypnotisms on a number of cruise ships, and each time the performer will have about 20 people come on stage and select a handful for his demonstration. What is he looking for in these people?
There was one that came to my college and he chose people who stood out. One person was quiet and studied a lot, one person was a typical jock, and it wasn’t just someone who hung out with friends and wasn’t noticed much. They were very loud or very quiet, normally quiet, who would be made to do something they’d never do otherwise. And the people who were quiet would never do the things that they were made to do. One girl was made to ask each person if they had found her a$s. This is something she obviously would never do, as she didn’t even have the self-esteem to go up and talk to people normally.

He picks people that are very bubbly and seem to be interested. also the people that have smiles and laugh a lot.

I had a chance to be one of those people in Las Vegas. The people are not preselected props or paid. What he is looking for when eliminating people is anyone who is resisting his suggestions. If you are thinking to much instead of just allowing your mind to follow, it shows in your body language.
You ever notice how relaxing of a tone is used? If you allow yourself to be relaxed and open to suggestion, it is a petty cool experience. Hypnosis is no more than fully opening your mind to suggestions by someone else and not giving a damn at the moment.
Note: you can’t be hypnotized if you dont want to be. I did it just to see what the hype was. I have a mind that likes to know how everything works.
It was fun. I would do it again.
